Andreas Geiss is Head of Unit for Research Strategy and Programme Coordination in DG CONNECT of the European Commission. He has a master's degree in electrical engineering, started his professional career working for the German regulatory authority in telecommunications and joined the European Commission in 2002. His current responsibilities include coordination of the DIGITAL funding programme, as well as the digital part of the Horizon Europe funding programme; Research strategy taking into account strategic autonomy, synergies, foresight and EU cooperation through multi-country projects; coordination of financial instruments contributing to the take up of digital technologies and services.
