Always fascinated by language and machines that one can talk to, Martin chose Mathematical Linguistics and Artificial Intelligence early on in his academic career. From pioneering machine translation research at Charles University in Prague in the 90’s, innovating conversational technology in automotive, enabling smartphones with embedded speech-to-speech translation on smartphones in IBM T. J. Watson Research, then bringing deep learning and neural translation as cloud services. Martin Čmejrek is a co-founder of the technological startup The MAMA AI (2021).
